We are here to show you exactly how to do so, step-by-step, in a two-part guide series that covers the most used social media platforms in South Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Before we get into it, keep these few things in mind before posting affiliate links:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>You must disclose that you will be making money through this link \u2013<\/strong>&nbsp;You\u2019re legally required to disclose any relationship with a brand that is giving you compensation in exchange for promotion. Yes, this includes affiliate links shared on social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>You must own the platform on which you\u2019re posting the link<\/strong> \u2013 Ensure you are abiding by each platform\u2019s policies regarding adding affiliate links in the comments, pages, profiles, or links you don\u2019t own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Don\u2019t be spammy, be helpful<\/strong> \u2013 Don\u2019t just post your affiliate link any and everywhere, rather limit your sharing on socials where it\u2019s relevant or adds value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ftc.gov\/business-guidance\/resources\/disclosures-101-social-media-influencers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">This information was adapted from the FTC Disclosure Guidelines.<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now that we\u2019ve covered the legal things, here\u2019s the low-down on posting on each platform\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Facebook<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>You have two options on Facebook:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\">\n<li>Share your link to your ABOUT section as a website link<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Post directly onto your timeline\/ feed as&nbsp; you would for any other post<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>About Section<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You can use this section to share clickable links:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\">\n<li>Clicking on ABOUT<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on Contact and Basic Info<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Here you will be able to add website links (this is where you paste your affiliate links)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Save<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>People will then be able to see and click your affiliate link when they visit your Facebook page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Timeline\/ Feed<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Navigate to your Facebook page<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scroll to the top of your Newsfeed and under Create Post click the grey text next to your profile picture<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select your image (or use some of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.webafrica.co.za\/blog\/sales-programme\/vuma-reach-sales-goodies-to-help-you-earn-big\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Vuma Reach Marketing Goodies<\/a>), your unique affiliate link, and a description of what Vuma Reach has to offer. A preview of the destination URL will appear below the text.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check it &amp; click POST<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You can find more information on Facebook\u2019s Help Center article: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/help\/668969529866328?helpref=search&amp;query=link%20shortener&amp;sr=4&amp;ref=contextual\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">How do I share a link from my Facebook Page<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Instagram<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>Instagram has two places to add clickable links:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\">\n<li>Your Instagram Bio<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Instagram Story<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Instagram Bio<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You can post your affiliate link directly to this section<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\" start=\"1\">\n<li>Go to your Instagram Profile<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click Edit profile<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add your unique affiliate link to the website section<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>People will then be able to click on your affiliate link directly from your Instagram profile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Instagram Story<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In the Instagram app tap the plus sign icon in the upper right corner and select story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\">\n<li>Create your Instagram Story by using one of the marketing images provided (Link it)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After uploading the content to your story, tap the sticker icon in the top row<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tap the Link sticker or search Instagram stickers in stories for the website link sticker<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add your unique affiliate link and select Done<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure you include a message explaining what the link is all about in your story so that your followers know to click on it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Post your story! ?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Snapchat<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>Snapchat allows users to add affiliate links in 3 ways:-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\">\n<li>In Snaps sent to your followers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In Snapchat stories<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In one-on-one chats<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Snapchat allows you to post links but you are limited to a single link<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Select the image from your marketing gallery (Link it)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once you have your chosen image click the paper clip icon on the PREVIEW screen<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Paste your unique affiliate link&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tap Attach to Snap<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Refer to this <a href=\"https:\/\/help.snapchat.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/7012382154900-How-to-Attach-a-Link-to-a-Snap\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Snapchat Help article<\/a> for more info.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>TikTok<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>TikTok allows affiliate links for business accounts. You can either switch your personal account to a business account using the TikTok app on your mobile device (the Desktop app doesn\u2019t have a version to switch account types) or you can sign up for a business account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here\u2019s how to switch to a business account on TikTok:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\">\n<li>Click on the three lines at the top right to open Settings > Privacy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select Manage Account<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose Switch to Business Account<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose one category for the account<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add your unique affiliate link to the website section<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Get posting, sharing, linking, and signing up with these tips.
