{"id":12078,"date":"2020-03-13T08:30:09","date_gmt":"2020-03-13T06:30:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.webafrica.co.za\/blog\/?p=12078"},"modified":"2026-02-26T17:58:30","modified_gmt":"2026-02-26T15:58:30","slug":"netflix-binger-march-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.webafrica.co.za\/blog\/streaming\/netflix-binger-march-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"Netflix Binger: The seriously series list &#8211; Feb\/March"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Now that it\u2019s almost halfway through the month, there is a build-up of enough series on Netflix to keep you going and binging for hours! <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ve seen plenty of great series released between January and the beginning of February such as The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: Part 2, The Stranger, Bojack Horseman Season 6: Part 2, Taylor Swift\u2019s Miss Americana, Spinning Out, Horse Girl, Narcos: Mexico Season 2, Better Call Saul Season 5 and many, many more! It\u2019s just been getting better and better with the rest of February and March starting to roll-out some more hits. Here are a few of the latest series releases that caught our eye:<\/p>\n<p><em>*Disclaimer: most of these shows have an age restriction of above 16 years of age<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Castlevania \u2013 Season 3<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The third season of this anime series just came out on Netflix so you can sink your teeth into three seasons! It is inspired by a popular video game set in medieval times, focused on Trevor Belmont trying to save humanity from Vlad Dracula and his army of vampires set on killing all humans.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Paradise PD \u2013 Season 2<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>If you have ever wanted an animated version of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, like shows like American Dad! and Family Guy, this one\u2019s for you\u2026 This American adult animation follows a police department with a group of particularly bad police officers doing a pretty poor job at policing. Get ready for a laugh!<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Love is Blind \u2013 Season 1 (NEW)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>In modern times, it is very easy to get distracted by social media and focus on only physical appearances when looking for a partner. Ever wonder what would happen if you never saw the person you\u2019re dating? Would you still like them? This social experiment tests just that. Participants are given a few days to get to know each other without ever seeing one another, and then proposing to the people they form a close connection to! They then get to see each other after the engagement and have a few weeks to live together and get married. Who will say yes in the end and who will be a runaway bride? Will they prove if love really is blind? Check out this strangely addictive reality show to find out how blind (or not) love really is.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>The Trials of Gabriel Fernandez<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>For those of us who can sit hours watching crime documentaries, this one has us all glued to the screen. It follows (as the name suggests) the heart-breaking, Gabriel Fernandez trials. An 8-year-old Hispanic boy\u2019s death uncovers an ailing Child Welfare system in California, failing society\u2019s most vulnerable. Trigger warning: the docuseries contains accounts and images of child abuse.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Altered Carbon \u2013 Season 2<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>This futuristic series revolves around a man who returns to life after being frozen for 250 years. He wakes up in a new body, as a prisoner and has to solve a murder to be set free. A psychological, futuristic thriller must-see on the Top 10 Netflix list.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Pandemic: How to Prevent an Outbreak (NEW)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Well, isn\u2019t this just fitting to our current situation? Pandemic is a docuseries looking at the scientists and researchers who are constantly trying to battle against influenza. Definitely a goodie to watch if you want to understand pandemics like Corona Virus and those working to get cures.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Formula 1: Drive to Survive \u2013 Season 2<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Currently whizzing to the Top 10 Netflix most-watched list in South Africa. For all of us adrenaline junkies, this series is an interesting look at life as a racer and F1 team member living in the fast lane. The second season just came out so you can fly through two whole seasons!<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Sex Education \u2013 Season 2<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Okay, so it\u2019s been a while since this was released but we just had to mention this Netflix original! The main character, Otis, is a very awkward high school student dealing with his sexual experiences while at the same time starting his own sex ed therapy sessions with his fellow students using the teachings of his sex therapist mother, Jean. His best friend, Eric, is simultaneous with showing the world his homosexuality and being comfortable with becoming his true, fantastically colourful self. In the wake of the Coronavirus right now, we can\u2019t help but have Eric\u2019s words ringing in our heads, \u201c&#8230;wash your hands, you detty pig,\u201d (<em>sic<\/em>) (S02E01).<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll be happy to know season three has been confirmed and rumour has its release date is set for January\/February 2021.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>I Am Not Okay With This \u2013 Season 1 (NEW)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>This show, based on the graphic novel by Charles Forsman, edges on the story of Carrie (Stephan King). Angsty teenager, Syd, starts to become more and more aware of her telepathic powers while trying to deal with family problems, high school life, and sexuality. If you\u2019re sad Sex Education ended and need something to watch while waiting for the next season, this one will help you get through the long wait.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Ozark \u2013 Season 3<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>A father is forced to move his family to a small holiday town, Ozark, after a money-laundering deal goes bad. He has to make back the money to ensure his family stays safe from the Mexican drug lord involved. In between the money laundering, keeping the cops away, not getting killed by the Mexican druggies, he also has to keep his family together. It is a little stressful to watch this, but seriously addictive, not to mention amazing actors in the line-up including Jason Bateman and Laura Linney.
