This is what you should know when you upgrade:

Your Webafrica invoices are issued within a very structured billing cycle and while our website and support page articles provide a clear explanation on how our billing cycle works, we thought it would be cool to suggest the best time to upgrade your data plan so you’ll get the most out of your upgrade decision.

Firstly, you are able to upgrade your data plan at any time of the month – it will take effect almost immediately.

When you upgrade your data plan you should consider a line upgrade too.

The line speed is what determines the speed performance of the connection. Think of your line as a hose-pipe. If you have a 10Mbps line you have a standard hose that will allow a certain amount of water (or in this case data) through at a time. If you have a 100Mbps line you have a mega firefighter hose that allows huge quantities of water (or data) through the hose at a time. The bigger the line – the faster your data can move – and so the faster your internet will be.

The data plan upgrade is specific to the amount of data allocated to your connection each month. For those of our providers who carry a FUP, (the Fair Use Policy structure is specific to Openserve packages, only) your data allocation will also have a bearing on your FUP threshold.

Webafrica, in collaboration with our awesome fibre partners, offers really competitive uncapped data package options. So, if you are considering a data plan upgrade you will most likely want to consider simply getting uncapped (unlimited) data.

How to Upgrade your Data Plan:

Step 1: Please visit your customer zone

Step 2: Then, select “My Service” drop down and click “Internet Access”

Step 3: Select “Upgrade/downgrade” option

Step 4: Finally, select your the new plan of your choice and remember to have a look at the service plan line upgrade options as well 😉

When is the best time to upgrade your data plan?

We recommend requesting your data upgrade at the start of the month.
