.co.za domain name improvements

We’re very excited to bring you this news. With it comes a whole new fully automated system – no more replying to complicated emails when you make changes to your .co.za domain.

Uniforum has officially made changes to their system allowing for a much improved management system using EPP keys.

These changes mean awesome features will be available in your Customer Zone very soon, including the immediate update of nameservers as well as allowing us to possibly pass on discounts on domains.

Uniforum will be running these system improvements on their side during the course of December 2012 to January 2013 during which you will receive a transfer request. Web Africans can safely ignore this as we’ll be handling the entire process on your behalf.

Absolutely no downtime will occur during this system migration.

    The lack of information in the post is more concerning. I received the transfer notification giving me 8 hours to find out exactly what was transpiring. WebAfrica transfered our domain from Uniforum to WebAfrica resulting in a no retrun transferiing option as a result.
    
    Uniforum’s website explained the pros and cons to an extent. WebAfrica decided not to bother replying. Since the legacy re-transfer option is no more available, should we wish to return the domain to legacy status the domain has to be deleted, creating a window where the domain ownership could be lost.
    
    WebAfrica is now an accreditted sponsor as they put it for those transfer domains. the question is why was the transfer needed? Could the EPP changed domain not remain at Uniforum.

      A mailer was sent out to all customers with .co.za domains in December 2012 and a reminder sent in early Jan 2013.
      
      This was Uniforums decision to use a newer, modern EPP type system which enables a lot more features and easier management of all the domains both from our end as well as the customers.
      
      Our Hosting team has further feedback on the technical details and will be able to assist further
