4 Mbps is out, 10 Mbps is in!

images_helmetThis just in! It has been officially confirmed that 4Mbps lines will be upgraded to 10Mbps line this weekend! On supported exchanges, Web Africa is offering line speeds of up to 10Mbps on our DSL Complete packages, raising the bar from the previous 4Mbps standards as from the 8th of August.[...]

This upgrade comes free of charge to our subscribers, so if you’ve been using the old 4Mbps line you’ll now be automatically upgraded to a 10Mbps line.  If you’re currently on a 384Kbps line and would also like to benefit, upgrade to one of our 10Mbps DSL Complete offerings here.

We’ve all been looking forward to this for a long time, and can’t wait to hear about how the change improves your all-round internet experience.  The future of broadband is here, so get browsing and feel the difference!

    Hi Warren,

All exchanges are set to be upgraded, however the upgrades are set for phases and may take some time to be upgraded to up to 10mbps.

Unfortunately Telkom have not provided this type of information.
The only way to tell that you have been upgraded to a 10Mbps sync is once your down sync is registering as 10Mbps.

Ja, lekker sad hey. Telkom again only giving 10Mbps to the smallest of minorities. Supposedly im not getting my 10mb line. Great. I live in Garsfontein. Not in Pofadder. If they don't have the Infrastructure… why bother ? Gamers don't like waiting, that's why we have 4Mbps lines ! If i wanted to wait id have stuck with my 384Kbps line. Now im waiting again. Give me the hardware and point me to the exchange. I'll do it myself !
