Americas Army now goes ranked

aa_blogWith increased popularity of Americas Army WAGE has taken the servers to the next step and opened a Americas Army ranked server. With the ranked server we will give you the same amount of action, but with the ability to gain experience points.[...]

With these levels you can join servers and always have the ability to have your preferred weapon or position in the team. With the added extra of rankings and levels you can measure the performance in games and compare them to friends.

Americas Army is a FREE game and free to download and play, copies of the game can be found on the wage FTP. This falls within Freezone so gaming on this server will not use any cap, making this the only server of its kind in South Africa.

    Hi guys.

I was wondering, where do i go to play the game ? Do i connect with a utility you offer, or do i scan in game for the wage server ? Or is there an IP adress i type in the game ?

Also, when will you be supporting AA 3 ? As the version on your FTP is AA 2.8, wich is old. And most servers out there are running AA 3.

    Thanx.

    Hello Aapie Beer

The servers which we are running can be viewed here at http://www.wage.co.za/gameservers.aspx

Most games will allow one to save a favorite list of servers to connect to and once you have put in the address you will be able to scan for it otherwise alternatively one can scan for the wage servers and then add them to the favourites or custom server list.

Alternatively once can download an application such as HLSW which will open games on demand and connect to a specified server

The uptake on AA3 hasn't been that strong from what we can tell with many old soldiers sticking to the predecessor AA2, although if the demand increases we can possibly reevaluate adding it in the future :)

I started out with Americas Army 2, as at the time, the general response of Americas Army 3 was dismal, with a generally broken client. Since this has improved recently, I am going to be deploying an AA3 server to get a feel of the lay of the land

    Hey Guys,

I see all the AA3 servers have now disappeared and are assigned to CS and TF2 servers. I guess that means people aren't playing AA3. I downloaded it a while ago, and have been playing non stop on Overseas servers. The latency isn't that bad, the fastest server is get is 100ms. And i personally have been enjoying it alot ! It isn't so full of bugs hey, not the way people are talking and it runs smooth on my computer, not slow at all. So it's really a shame not everyone is playing this. But i guess most guys sit and play MW2 or BC2

    Hi Paul!

There are some AA3 servers locally, and WAGE does have one as a testbed. I'm wanting to go ranked on it pretty soon

    Hi Paul!

There are some AA3 servers locally, and I have one set up as a test bed, getting a feel for the tech behind it; more than likely it'll go ranked in short order

    Hi Paul!

There are some AA3 servers locally, and WAGE also has a AA3 server for testing running currently. That server is going to be converted into a ranked server in the near future.
