Hi Martin,

In July we gave almost all data packages more bandwidth for the same price, so we increased the value. We did not promise more price changes, but what followed was increase in the value of our packages for no added costs. :)

Hi Pete,

As you are well aware I am sure, the ISP marketing is highly competitive at the moment so we are unfortunately not able to discuss our strategy. If Mweb had given out information about their uncapped offerings before hand it would not have had the impact it did. I hope you can understand from that point of view.

As far as if our business model is flexible enough? The answer is yes, we have always been in a volatile market and have had to be ready to roll out changes in short time frames. Note that we are not purely an ADSL provider, we also have resellers, hosting, mailfire, domain registration etc to grow and develop so we have to consider our entire product lineup roll-out schedule before impulsively jumping onto the next market hype.

In the last 6 months we have released:

- A free gaming service
- Industry first low hosting pricing
- New Reseller Hosting on Utilization Product
- New Dedicated Server Nitro Range
- FreeZone
- Lowered Data, Prepaid and DSL Complete Pricing (end user and reseller)
- New Reseller Realms model

With much, much more to come. All of the above benefiting existing customers, not just the ADSL users.

Also, bare in mind that certain technologies are required before we can roll-out new products such as uncapped for example. Just because there is a demand for a product, it does not speed up the clearance through customs for example. Multiple variables that the end users are not aware of.

We are working as fast as we can to get new products out, I assure you we are not just sitting back and smiling about the recent developments, we are retorting.

Lets keep this simple.
In view of the price movements of your competition over the past two weeks.....
What are you going to do now?
If indeed anything.

Is WebAfrica business model flexible enough to effectively deal with what your competition is dooing and keep their customers.
Or will WebAfrica just Expect their customers to remain Loyal and continue to pay-up for what is quickly becoming ridiculously small cap connectivity

For the lat couple of months (while everyone has been decreasing their prices) Webafrica has been keeping there customers in suspense regarding the new pricing structure.

As a customer who spends a lot of time overseas and buys bandwidth on a "need" basis i am completely disgusted with the "massive" "huge" wonderful" R1 (yes thats right ONE RAND) re-price webafrica has given me.

My need basis is from 1-8 gigs per month so i cant commit to a "shaped/unshaped package" because it doesn't suit my needs.

Well webafrica guess what your service is awesome, your network is up there amongst the best but your cheeky attitude towards your customers is disgusting.

Im very disappointed because i stayed with you guys because i thought it was going to be worth it but it wasnt.

I'm a DSL Complete customer and I must say I'm a bit disappointed that the price drops aren't bigger, but since I've always been happy with WebAfrica's customer service I won't move to another ISP right now.

One thing bothers me though - the more bandwidth one buys the higher the price per GB. Isn't that completely backwards?
