WAGE at Organised Chaos January

oc-lanWeb Africa’s WAGE team attended the OC LAN event, which took place at the Bellville Velodrome last weekend.  This month’s NEON theme saw gamers dressed in bright neon clothes, eager to win one of the 1terabyte hard drives which were up for grabs.  The event was a great success with 500 gamers filling the roster and it wasn’t long before the tables were filled up with glowing computer equipment ranging from the ordinary through to the bizarre.[...]

The gamers had barely settled in when they  were treated to free gum balls.  This was followed by an announcement shortly afterwards for gamers to come forward and compete, the winner who was able to keep the most in his mouth managed 27 of the tasty treats and was awarded with a set of WAGE dog tags.

A special surprise NEON dance competition took place at the event on Friday evening.   Excited gamers took to the floor, wowing the crowds with an impressive array of dancing techniques and some not so great styles.  The grand prize given away was a MSI Nvidia NX250 pci-express graphics card which was awarded to the best dancer and a total 25GB worth of bandwidth was also given out as prizes.

This last weekend LAN was just a taste of things to come and the WAGE team are arranging more fun and free activities and giveaways for the next event which will be taking place on the 19th of February, next month at the Bellville Velodrome.  See you there!
